10 minute fried rice!

Ingredients

(Serves 2)

  • 1 cup leftover rice

  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped

  • 1/4 onion, chopped

  • 1/2 cup cabbage, chopped

  • 1-2 Chinese sausage links, sliced

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp. sesame oil

  • 1-2 tbsp. oyster sauce

  • 1-2 tbsp. soy sauce

  • 2 tsp. ground white pepper

  • 1-2 green onion stalks, chopped

Great Additions:

  • Broccoli, chopped

  • Yu choy, chopped

  • Sliced chicken (breast or thighs)

Instructions

  • In a wok, heat up sesame oil and onions on high heat

  • Once the onions start turning translucent, add the chopped garlic and cook for 2 minutes

  • Add rice and soy sauce, cook for 2-3 minutes or until rice is broken down and browning

  • Add Chinese sausage and cabbage (also add chicken at this time if you’re including it), cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • Add oyster sauce and any additional veggies. I also like to add a few teaspoons of water at this time to help steam the veggies and give the rice some stickiness.

  • Once everything is at desired doneness, create a pocket and add the egg. Break the yolk a bit and let it cook for a minute or two so that the egg solidifies.

  • Once the egg has cooked, break it up and stir the scrambled egg into the rest of the rice. Add the ground white pepper and serve!
